Also known as a "pinny" in Britain it was historically worn over dresses to protect them. Typically, they are sleeveless and may or may not have a sash or tie at the waist. Pinafores are easy to take on and off so they can be slipped on quickly and removed to be was</span><span style="font-family:arial;">hed. Above are two very famous pinafores that maybe we have overlooked.<br /><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV9DeYxR8vlfBEwusp_CDjoFo8jHpH-WdHphozQnBUa2Rp1JeBS77i7fdQsAaFuYa7O7hcEoaiOiXlyhZJAPuBa29wdopzd-pjGQAMNf3OgU7rmoe9PQeqisBFWc2bQeicv3_tsw1voS0/s1600-h/antique+bw+pinafore.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 0px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 386px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV9DeYxR8vlfBEwusp_CDjoFo8jHpH-WdHphozQnBUa2Rp1JeBS77i7fdQsAaFuYa7O7hcEoaiOiXlyhZJAPuBa29wdopzd-pjGQAMNf3OgU7rmoe9PQeqisBFWc2bQeicv3_tsw1voS0/s400/antique+bw+pinafore.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428918007591288994" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">Imagine a baby or child exploring their world by touching food, toys and mouths. We've all reached down and grabbed that chubby, sticky little hand that at some time had probably been wiped on the new party dress or special holiday outfit. Aha! That is where the pinafore comes in! It is a stylish and functional piece that should be reintroduced into every child's closet.<br /><br /></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0-u0PKY12lTjeVU98bLKeKYQeMSSvCLqMkmIVtuy9fzZlcjEdqQoBJVvSBvA4RDhX4v0-Nm0tkDl2puZpUwREFcjl33htMNS4LTyU4JXbh1MWMsv7v7Z6U7Nf21AqdsBCvg4GcIUzLxo/s1600-h/pinafore+front+1.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 0px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0-u0PKY12lTjeVU98bLKeKYQeMSSvCLqMkmIVtuy9fzZlcjEdqQoBJVvSBvA4RDhX4v0-Nm0tkDl2puZpUwREFcjl33htMNS4LTyU4JXbh1MWMsv7v7Z6U7Nf21AqdsBCvg4GcIUzLxo/s320/pinafore+front+1.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428916375905103234" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="font-family:arial;">To shop for Mabel pinafores:<br /><br /><a href="http://www.mabelboutique.com/product/ruffle-cotton-pinafore">Mabel online store</a><br /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=35475746">Etsy store</a><br /><br /></span>Mabelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05125434495319960276noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6454611314538972708.post-12681873405784282902010-01-15T18:12:00.000-08:002010-01-20T11:04:55.321-08:00Why vintage?<span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS59H0qhTdeU-JDZtgjjZ0UfEVaAsJj-0wZg-tsULa508CG7fSz3Oo_fDZJBBAHwVuAGIG2JySorpSPkcG4oUdoQeWiA7xlLyztXiYkCt9nifJKTlNPLpeN1Ock1ijNZzhR3OFJ2-ursk/s1600-h/mad-men-774578.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS59H0qhTdeU-JDZtgjjZ0UfEVaAsJj-0wZg-tsULa508CG7fSz3Oo_fDZJBBAHwVuAGIG2JySorpSPkcG4oUdoQeWiA7xlLyztXiYkCt9nifJKTlNPLpeN1Ock1ijNZzhR3OFJ2-ursk/s400/mad-men-774578.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427167670174239554" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdIC6LJmSctNeg6DtBQqEXZnoYV0aTxYOkE9St-oj1Tak2zdY3b11cJ96cA225m3bPBTKTl-OEs5AcM3GwGBRC_HAhja5dc-MGdlPZJ0-10expwGY_G2IY7qYo4H8mlgRF4mAallLOLFk/s1600-h/pleasantville8.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 269px; height: 227px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdIC6LJmSctNeg6DtBQqEXZnoYV0aTxYOkE9St-oj1Tak2zdY3b11cJ96cA225m3bPBTKTl-OEs5AcM3GwGBRC_HAhja5dc-MGdlPZJ0-10expwGY_G2IY7qYo4H8mlgRF4mAallLOLFk/s400/pleasantville8.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427167594867548866" border="0" /></a></span><span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:85%;" >To put it simply, because it all just seems so perfect.</span><span style="font-size:85%;"><br /></span><div style="text-align: left;"><span style=";font-family:arial;font-size:130%;" ><span style="font-size:85%;"><br />There just seemed to be so much style and in such a polished way. Back in time, from the twenties to the sixties so much effort was put into perfection or the appearance of it. Design and style seemed to be in everything. The clothing, the furniture, the appliances, the cars... the list goes on and on. And when it came to products, they last and continue to inspire things that we own today. It just all seemed to be so well thought out.<br /><br />It was so perfect, it almost transcended reality. The idea of that lifestyle is just that; more of an idea and that is what I love about it. The show Madmen or the movie Pleasantville comment on the actual imperfections of those eras but there is still a magic to it all.<br /><br />So, how does this relate to Mabel? I want the products to follow these ideals of that "perfect" time. To have style, to have a distinct design and to last.<br /></span><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></span></div><span style="font-size:130%;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdeR3Kfr_Y1PMrSiUB5zN687rmsr53582tXRUiXxYsPBHsr0rpoNGLV4jn3xZHvtPhRD1c-bubuCr6TRQL-KoGU_p1xooWWbfBC3rwvwrOpSCfOWjxBGthasrl7GRyhY8Y4whxCneHmJY/s1600-h/Picture+1.png"> </a></span>Mabelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05125434495319960276noreply@blogger.com2
